Sacred Shadows
Based on a b&W thumbnail sketch I did back in 2011 for Environment
Design I with James Paick. I believe these setting could exist in the
same world as Deep Shadows posted last year.

The Ninth Gate Film Studies
Here are 6 more film studies I did, this time for "The Ninth Gate",
another one of my favorite movies. It's a great exercise to get the
colors right (no eyedropper) and to get the overall shapes/masses with
few brushstrokes. I'm posting the original screenshots, too, this time. I'll definitely be doing this more often as it's great practice.

The Thief
Trying to apply what I learned from doing the Willow Film Studies of my previous post. Also trying to enrich the environment with a story.

Untitled
One of those projects you really like in the beginning but then along
the way you lose interest and it finally ends up as "scrapmetal"...

Fresh Meat III
his is heavily inspired by Sintra, a beautiful area near Lisbon (about
30min away from where I live). A lot of trips during my childhood to
this real place certainly infused my love for fantasy. If you ever come
to Portugal you have to visit it (Google it)...By the way, one of the
settings in the (awesome) movie "The Ninth Gate" featuring Johnny Depp,
plays in one of these chalets, very typical in Sintra...(again...google
it...)
